You are what you eat.
During the past months, all we have been hearing about is Covid this and Covid that and by now I am sure that many of us have been personally affected by this pandemic. One of the ways that we are able to look after ourselves and those closest to us, is to help boost our immune systems.
But how can we do that?
One of the easiest ways is to evaluate the food that we eat and what nutritional value it has for our bodies. Everything you eat or drink finds a way to your brain. Just think about it. Your brain switch can’t be turned on or off like a light switch, even during load-shedding your brain is still switched “on.” Your brain takes care of your thoughts and movements, your breathing and heartbeat, your senses – it works extremely hard, 24/7 – it even works while you’re asleep.
This means your brain needs a sufficient supply of fuel (petrol). And here is the shocking part, the “fuel” that you give your brain comes straight from the foods that you eat.
We have all heard the saying “you are what you eat”. Well, that is absolutely the truth. What is in your ‘’fuel’’, or the nutrition in your foods, makes all the difference. What you eat, directly affects the structure and function of your brain and, ultimately your mood.
Your brain is your greatest asset, after all, it controls your whole life. When you buy your dream car, you won’t put low quality, cheap fuel in it, will you? Just like a car, your brain functions best when it gets premium fuel too. What nasty, high-colored, high preservatives, processed sugar, and processed foods do to your brain is exactly what old dirty fuel will do to your dream car. It will cause your system to seize and your body will not have the fuel to operate at maximum potential. Eating high-quality foods that contain lots of vitamins, minerals, and antioxidants nourish the brain and protect it from damaging stress.
Unfortunately, with our fast lifestyle, it is not always easy to access food that is high in organic nutritional values. We do need additional assistance in the form of supplements. But, which supplement to choose? Which nutrients are the most important for the body? Especially now during Covid-19, which nutrients play an important role in immune support?
Almost all nutrients in a healthy balanced diet play a vital role in maintaining an optimal immune response and support, but did you know that too little or too much of a specific nutrient or excessive intakes can have a very negative effect on the immune system too?
The good news is that higher doses of certain nutrients can harm or influence a variety of bad bacteria, viruses, or other microorganisms that can cause diseases, like flu or even Covid-19.
Among the most important nutrients protecting the immune system are zinc and selenium.
Zinc is a vital trace mineral for the immune system. The ability of zinc to boost immunity in certain disorders has been backed up by numerous studies over the past few decades.
“When the body detects an infection, zinc is recruited to help produce immune response proteins, and then it’s used to stop their production,” said lead author Daren Knoell, PharmD, Ph.D., a professor of pharmacy and internal medicine at Ohio State. “But zinc deficiency (shortage) appears to cause a catastrophic malfunctioning on the system, resulting in a magnified and prolonged inflammatory response.”
Did you know that we have no specialized zinc storage system in our body which means we must take it every day?
So what evidence is there to support taking zinc for COVID-19? There have been hundreds of studies investigating zinc for the common cold. Zinc can inhibit the binding of the cold virus to cells within the nasal mucosa and suppress inflammation. COVID-19 is a new disease, and we are still learning about it, so to date, there has not been any specific completed studies of zinc for COVID-19, and we can only look at its effects in other conditions. However, zinc has been shown to inhibit the activity and replication of another coronavirus (SARS-CoV which caused an outbreak in 2002).
Selenium AAC is another trace element naturally present in the human body. Dietary selenium has been found to play a vital role in the immune treatment of viral and bacterial infections. Selenium acts as an antioxidant specifically in the gastrointestinal tract (in your gut), and has a direct influence on your body’s immune system.
CONCLUSION: A stronger immune system builds a stronger barrier against viruses, bacteria, or another microorganism that can cause diseases, like flu or even Covid -19.
The two vital trace elements that your body needs for protection are zinc and selenium.
Release SCE™ Forte has both as additional support minerals at high enough doses that if you take two Release SCE™ Forte per day, your body will already receive a large part of your required daily zinc and selenium intake to protect you.
Release SCE™ Forte only uses the purest form of all minerals. We use zinc picolinate and selenium AAC.
Why zinc picolinate? Because studies over the years have proven that your body absorbs zinc in the form of zinc picolinate better than other types of zinc.
Why selenium AAC? Selenium amino acid chelate (selenium AAC), is a chelated form of the essential trace mineral selenium, bonded with an amino acid. By chelating the mineral, it is firmly attached to the amino acid to avoid being dissociated in the digestive system – this process improves the absorption and bioavailability of the mineral.
In addition to zinc picolinate and selenium AAC, our Release SCE™ Forte formula also has chromium nicotinate. This is the organic form of chromium and assists with the regulation of glucose in the brain. This too has a direct influence on improving the immune system and also releasing additional and unnecessary stress on the body and the nervous system. It helps to improve mood and reduce the risk of recurrent infections.
Release SCE™ also contains magnesium. We all know the importance of magnesium. The lack of magnesium has a direct impact, not just on your mental health and concentration but the lack of magnesium is also the reason for muscle cramps, heart problems, breathing problems, and degrading the general wellbeing of your body. A combination of magnesium is therefore vital for the wellbeing of the brain, body, cells, muscles, and immune support.
Release SCE™ Forte has 200 mg of a combination of magnesium per two capsules per day, which is already more than your 50% magnesium for a 30+ to 50+-year-old man or woman. There is magnesium in most healthy foods from nuts, seeds, green leafy vegetables, milk, wholewheat, brown rice, avocado, dark chocolate and the highest in all foods is pumpkin seeds. Our recommendation would be to do research and start including more natural foods with a high magnesium value in your diet, and you will give your brain and immune system an amazing gift.
Have you ever heard that when they produce any type of supplement, they need a flowing agent?
Usually, it is just a cellulose filler. Well, to optimize our Release SCE™ we have decided to add Vitamin C as our flowing agent. We all know that the moment you start getting any type of cold or flu symptoms you grab vitamin C. Ascorbic acid (our form of vitamin C) has been used to prevent or treat low levels of vitamin C in people who do not get enough of the vitamin from their diets. Vitamin C plays an important role in the body. If you fall ill you would need higher doses of vitamin C of course, however, to maintain a healthy body and immune system you would need 200mg ascorbic acid. Taking two Release SCE™ Forte capsules a day gives you 100% the RDA (recommended daily allowance) to maintain your health and immune system and to protect your body’s cells from damage. Vitamin C is also known as an antioxidant. Antioxidants protect your cells against the effects of pollution like inhaling tobacco smoke, deodorant fumes, smoke, poison, radiation, or water pollution.
As you can see, Release SCE™ Forte is an amazing immune booster and a protecting supplement for a healthy body. The greatest part is that the main ingredient in Release SCE™ Forte has not even been mentioned yet. The greatest main ingredient is our very own SCE™ Sceletium extract, with an average of 3.5% mesembrine stabilized and standardized extraction. This extraction has proven to be a natural but very effective, non-habit forming, selective serotonin reuptake inhibitor (SSRI). To explain this easily, it helps control the absorption of serotonin in the brain so that your serotonin (the feel-good hormone) is more freely available. This improves your ability to focus, your memory, decreases your stress, limits anxiety, and improves the overall wellbeing of the most important part of your body – your brain!
